Cadet Competition

RESCHEDULED TO 22-24 AUGUST 2025

The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Region (MAR) Cadet Competition will be held 22-24 Aug 2025 at the State Military Reservation (SMR), in Virginia Beach, VA. 

The competition format is changing to allow for more cadets to participate, include some virtual events, and increase wing participation. The Operations Plan is available in the Documents section of this page.

Dates: 22-24 AUG 2025 (virtual events 25 JUL - 15 AUG)

Location: 

•      Virtual: Absorb LMS (exams) and MS Teams (speeches)

       In Person: Virginia State Military Reservation (SMR), 1208 South Birdneck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 

There is NO FEE for this event.    

Billeting and meals will be provided for all team members, escorts, and staff.   

COV usage is authorized for team transportation to, from, and during the event.
 

Key Dates:

     Late May: Staff applications open

     18 July: Submissions of wing cadet competitor designations and elective category choices complete 

     25 Jul - 15 Aug: Virtual events

     22 - 24 Aug: Onsite events and awards ceremony

• Arrival – 22 August, 1600-1800 (Staff), 1800-2000 (Competitors)  

• Departure – 24 August, 1200 (All)

Cadet Competition Virtual Town Hall Meetings

Virtual town hall meetings are being held to offer information on the new competition format and answer questions – potential competitors, competition team supporters/escorts, group/wing competition organizers encouraged to attend, all members welcome! The same material will be covered at each meeting. Meeting links are posted on the region calendar and in the email announcement.

• Tuesday, 15 April at 2000 

• Wednesday, 23 April at 2000 

In-person information sessions will be available at events across MAR! Stop by and meet MAR competition organizers, ask questions, and register to win a free swag bag:

• 29 March: VAWG Cadet Competition  

• 5 April: NATCAPWG Conference  

• 5 April: MDWG Cadet Conference  

• 12 April: NCWG Conference  

• 26 April: WVWG Drill Academy  

• 14 June: DEWG Conference
