Region Cadet Leadership School - South (MARCLS-S)

Region cadet leadership school (RCLS) is a course in officership, indirect leadership, and other themes consistent with CAP’s leadership expectations for Phase III cadets. These academies make use of local resources to broaden leadership skills in cadet officers and NCOs.

In this course, students will acquire practical experience in leading indirectly, problem-solving, effective writing, speaking, and group dynamics. Cadets who successfully complete this course, become eligible to receive the Eaker Award and gain fundamental officership skills.

This course is academically rigorous, students should be familiar with effective writing techniques, time management skills, and be prepared for public speaking. MAR-CLS draws a range of guest speakers from MCAS Cherry Point to include MCAS Cherry Point Command Staff and instructors for their NCO leadership course.

Location: Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina

Dates: 27 July - 2 August 2025

As an accredited Cadet Special Activity, cadets may apply for financial aid from CAP. Go to the eServices CadetInvest Module and apply for Cadet Lift to be considered for needs-based financial assistance to attend this event.  This program is designed to offset costs associated with attending some NCSAs. They include payment of your activity fees and transportation to and from the activity. Go to the CadetInvest pages for more details. Deadline to apply for financial assistance is 15 January at 12 noon Central Time. Being offered financial assistance is not a guarantee of acceptance into an activity. You must compete for and receive a slot at an activity. You will be notified if you are a recipient of financial aid/scholarship before you are required to accept or decline a slot at an activity.
