Warrior Challenge

Warrior Challenge was a great success, with seven teams from five wings (DE/MD/SC/VA/WV​) participating. Thanks to all the senior member and cadet staff who helped make this happen.

The Mid-Atlantic Warrior Challenge integrates the concepts of a warrior spirit with resiliency and physical challenges in a weekend competition that encourages members to maintain a level of physical fitness, build mental resiliency, and develop comradery.  It incorporates both what is defined by the Navy as warrior toughness, performance-focused skills that can be applied to maintain top performance ability, and resilience focusing on individual health and well-being to maintain readiness to respond. The program incorporates the Five Pillars of Wellness and Resilience: Mind, Body, Relationships, Spirit, and Family (CAPP 80-4).  

Dates:       3-5 October 2025 (Friday Evening to Sunday Mid-Day) 
Location:  Camp Upshur, Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA 
Meals:      Saturday all meals and Sunday breakfast provided 
Cost:        $25 per participant (cadet and adult member teams) 

Registration is CLOSED! Team leads or adult member escorts must register the team at https://forms.office.com/r/eecDijabKD, plus each participant must register and pay in Registration Zone.  Click Here. Payment problems are resolved. All participants need to pay before arrival, unless other arrangements have been made. No charge for staff.

ARRIVAL INFORMATION: Make sure you bring the following with you. Forms can be downloaded from this page or Registration Zone. Ensure current medical information is entered into CAP Health.

  • CAPF 60-80 - Activity Permission (All cadets. Under 18 requires parent's signature)

  • CAPF 160-1(I) - Medical History (ALL)

  • CAPF 163 - Over the Counter Medication Permission (All cadets under age 18)

  • Medication Log (All cadets)

  • Quantico Enclosure 1 - Activity (ALL)

  • Quantico Enclosure 2 - Liability (ALL)

  • Quantico Enclosure 3 - Waiver Under 18, signed by parent/guardian. Unit Senior Representative is the Activity Director/will sign at inprocessing (All cadets under age 18)

  • Gallon of drinkable water per person (ALL)

  • Personal water container(s), at least 1 quart (ALL)

  • Leather gloves, well-fitting (All competitors)

  • Necessary medications in original containers with labels. All cadets bring in a resealable bag with your name on it. (ALL)

 

TEAMS: Participants will be required to register as whole teams.  6 cadets and 2 adult escorts (cadet Team) -or- 6 adult members and 1 safety spotter (adult member team). 

  • Teams can be composed of members from multiple squadrons/groups/wings – teams cannot consist of cadets AND adult members. 

  • The two adult members for the cadet teams are the team escorts/chaperones and are not competitors. 

UNIFORMS: 

  • Cadets – ABU’s and Fitness (PT) Attire  

  • Adults – ABU’s or Corporate Field Uniform (“Blue BDU’s”) 

  • Team Escorts/Chaperones may wear Corporate Working Uniform (Polo) since they will not be participating in physical events.

Staff Applications

A few spots for both cadet and senior member staff have opened up. Prior experience is not required for most staff positions, just a willingness to support and help. Register at https://forms.office.com/r/q0R06tckbR if you are able to help.

Qualifications: Cadet staff must have completed Achievement 1 and Senior Member staff must have completed Level 1.  

 

Additional Details:

Teams. Participants will be required to register as whole teams: six cadets and two senior members (cadet team) or six senior members and one senior member safety spotter (senior member team). The senior members for the cadet teams are the team chaperone and not competitors. Teams can be composed of members from multiple squadrons or even wings - teams cannot consist of cadets AND senior members.

Events. Events may include traditional fitness, leadership reaction course (LRC), obstacle course, team sports, and mind challenges (e.g. escape room). All activities will be supervised by CAP senior members.

Logistics. Events, lodging, and meals will be provided. Each team will be responsible for their own transportation to/from the activity and between events. Meals for participants, escorts, and staff will be provided and include three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Each participant is responsible for bringing a gallon of drinking water for their personal use.

Uniform. Uniform is ABUs or Corporate Field Unform (aka "Blue BDUs"). Team chaperones, safety spotters, and staff may wear Corporate Working Uniform (aka polo) since they will not climb the obstacle course or LRC.

Registration. Cost is $25 per competitor. Participants MUST register in advance to ensure base access.
