2025 MARSAR planning
Mid-Atlantic Region:
I am pleased to announce that registration for the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Search and Rescue
College is now open. The region staff and MARSAR planning team will be hosting an outstanding
training event with numerous training opportunities for all our members, both cadets and adults.
Please read carefully through this announcement which will contain the key information about the event.
Key Information:
Where: Fort Barfoot Military Reservation - W Entrance Rd, Blackstone, VA 23824
Blackstone Army Airfield / KBKT - 49 Dominy Corner Road, Blackstone, VA
When: April 25-27. Arrival time begins Friday 25 April at 1200 hrs and departures will begin at 1200 hrs on Sunday 27 April.

Registration Options & Cost: Price is all inclusive for the entire weekend event:
- MARSAR Ground School Registration - $75 - you will be billeted in the field so tents are mandatory (Cadets & Adults)
- MARSAR Registration with Barracks Billeting Option- $75 - This option is not available for Ground School members but for all other schools occurring on the base. (Cadets & Adults)
- MARSAR Registration plus Single Room Billeting Option for two nights - $175 - (Adults Only)
- MARSAR Registration Kitchen Staff with Barracks Billeting Option - No Fee - (Kitchen Staff only - open to both Cadets & Adults)

- CAPF 163 Permission for Provision of Minor Cadet Over-The-Counter Medication
To ease the completion of the required documents and to ease processing, the required forms have been combined into a single document attached to the registration email.

Training Options at the 2025 Mid-Atlantic SAR College:
- Mission Aircrew School (MP, AP, MO, MS)
- Ground Search and Rescue (GT1-3, GTL, GBD,MRO)
- MAR IC1 Course - IC2 qualification required, refer to MAR IC1 supplement
- sUAS Training
- ICS 400 course
- MRO Course
- Incident Command School (LSC, AOBD, CUL, OSC, FASC, PSC, IC*) * requests for IC training will be ap-proved individually. Members requesting will receive a separate email.
- Support Staff (PAOs, HSOs, Chaplains, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Flight Line, MSA’s etc)
- Kitchen Team
·Please note that all F&P for the Mission Air Crew School, sUAS course and ICS 300 class will be conducted via virtual classroom sessions prior to the event. Multiple sessions will be offered for those that require F&P prior to advanced task training. All prerequisites must be met to attend F&P virtual training.
Billeting:
IC, Aircrew, and Support staff assigned to barracks will be billeted on the base at Fort Barfoot. Mem- bers will need to bring linens for single beds.
GSAR participants and support staff assigned to the Ground School will be billeted in field conditions therefore tents are mandatory.
Senior members selecting the single occupancy room option will not be required to bring sheets.
What is included?
- All Meals starting Friday Dinner and ending Sunday Breakfast
- Lodging at either Fort Barfoot Base or in the field (Ground School)
- MARSAR T-Shirt and patch
- All training and materials required by instructor to execute training plan for your school.
- Ability to network across region with members and gather experience and training.
