COMMAND CHIEF,
CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT MARCO E. A. SOAVE, CAP

CMSgt Soave joined Tri-County Composite Squadron (19059) as a cadet in March of 1976.  He attained the grade of cadet lieutenant colonel and earned his observer rating on 4 April 1980.

In April 1981, he began his military career.  After serving with HHC, 187th Infantry Brigade and Co. B, 1BN, 110 Armor Division, he transferred to the United States Navy and in 1983 began serving as a naval aircrewman aboard P-3C Orion aircraft as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator (AW).  In 1990, he cross-rated to Navy Counselor (NC).

His tours include Patrol (VP-23), Test and Evaluation (VX-1) and Fleet Logistics (VR-24) aviation units.  He served in USS ARKANSAS (CGN-41), Destroyer Squadron SIX, and USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71).  Additionally, he sea duty assignment include Second Marine Division, and Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133.  Ashore, his tours include the staff of Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command and on the staff of the Navy Surgeon General.  He completed his nearly 28 years of service and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer on February 28th, 2009.  SCPO Soave served as a Navy JROTC instructor at Friendly High School in Ft Washington, Maryland from 2012 to 2017.

CMSgt Soave joined Virginia Wing in September 2002.  He completed all five levels of the senior member professional development program earning the Gill Robb Wilson Award (#2494). He was promoted to Lt Colonel in July 2011.  He has served as commander of Burke and Minuteman Composite squadrons, director of the Middle East Region Cadet Leadership School, on the Middle East Region staff.  His final assignment as a CAP officer was as the Virginia Wing director of professional development.  In March 2018, SMSgt Soave assumed the duties as the Virginia Wing’s first command NCO.  CMSgt Soave became the Mid-Atlantic Region Command NCO on February 18th, 2022.

He holds a master rating in cadet programs, professional development, recruiting and retention, administration and personnel.  Additionally, he holds a senior rating in plans and programs and a technician rating in logistics.

CMSgt Soave is designated as Naval Aircrewman, Fleet Marine Force, and Aviation Warfare Specialist.  His awards include: Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Navy Good Conduct Medal (7), SW Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (8), Exceptional Service Award, Meritorious Service Award, Commanders Commendation (5), Achievement Award and numerous other unit, campaign, and service awards.
